My most memorable Brandeis experience was going on my final tree walk with Dr. Perlman in my Environmental Studies class. Not only did I get to learn more about the local trees on campus, I got to learn a great deal about sustainability. Since this was during my Covid semester, being able to go on these walks with Dr. Perlman was the closest thing I had to an in person class. I loved learning about how the trees interacted with the environment and how student life impacted the local environment; I will remember these walks for the rest of my life.
I chose Brandeis because of the welcoming and helpful community. I have always felt that rather than competing, professors and fellow students always have the goal of helping you succeed. The community at Brandeis is friendly and welcoming and I am always able to find and make new friends wherever I go.
My favorite class that I have taken was Native North America with professor Emilie Connolly. This class went in depth analyzing the history of native Americans both in the current United States as well as South and Central America. This class offered a unique perspective on the Native American history and their current battle towards land reclamation.
Without a doubt the 24 hour musical. Although I did not participate this year, a good friend of mine did and was one of the main characters in this years rendition of "Camp Rock." For the show, my entire friend group and I went to the theater to watch my friend perform and got to meet the cast after.
