My favorite Brandeis tradition is "Light the Night," where we light LED candles at the end of orientation and express our goals at the university. This experience allowed us to momentarily reflect on our intentions to attend Brandeis and form goals for our time here.
I chose Brandeis because of its unique history, size, location, academics, and warm community. A friend introduced our me to the university early in high school at a s'mores birthday party. Three of us, from around that fire pit, now attend Brandeis. The attributes that he described became clearer at our tour and even stronger while students here.
My most memorable Brandeis experience is the Chabad Purim Party. Over 500 students of all backgrounds come together to celebrate the Jewish holiday of purim together. It is so special coalescing around this holy day with the entire school community.
One of my favorite Brandeis classes is Introduction to Law. Professor Daniel Breen's excitement to teach doesn't end at the classroom. He brings us on class trips, frequently hosts department events, and is always happy to talk.
