My favorite activity is to sit in Upper Usdan, a hang out spot with multiple food options, with my friends after a late night study session. We would all sit around a table at around 10pm eating multiple pints of ice cream, listening to music and just chatting until the wee hours of the morning.
Of the people. Brandeisians are a one of a kind type of people. Intellectual, and passionate- everyone at Brandeis, from faculty to student body, wants to change the world. It is not a competitive environment where people tear each other down, rather it is a supportive and welcoming environment that makes me feel empowered. I chose Brandeis because everyone is a family. I knew that in this family atmosphere I would be able to change the world.
Dan Breen, a legal studies professor, is my favorite professor. My first month of school, I went to him for help with an essay. When I went to jump into my essay topic, he stopped me and asked me questions to better get to know me. Since then, we have met together every Tuesday to play board games, chat and catch up on our weeks. I would go with my toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese and I would get him a chocolate chip muffin. We would hang out and eat. It is simple, but it is one of my favorite parts of the week. While Brandeis professors are Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize winners, they are not solely here for academics. They are here to be a resource in all sense of the word. All of my professors have been amazing.
Walking out of my class, that was up the Rabb steps, and being greeted by the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. I actually stopped in the middle of going down the steps as the sky took my breath away.
