During my first week at Brandeis I decided to eat on Moody Street for the first time with a couple of friends. There, at Margaritas, I met my best friend and the amazing experience we continue to have are because of that first trip to Moody Street.
the culture, atmosphere and academics. Brandeis is many things. It's a small town next to a big city, it's a University founded with religious roots that maintains a vast array of religious diversity, and, most importantly, it's a school that lifts up it's students. What I mean is that Brandeis encourages community and collaboration rather than just fierce competition. Working with my peers to make the most of every situation has meant more to me than anything. It's that culture of collaboration and healthy competition that brought me to Brandeis and is the reason I'm so proud of it.
political activism. I'm currently a fellow with Senator Ed Markey's Re-Election Campaign and have had the opportunity to be active in my new community, to organizing for the causes I believe in and have had a real impact on my community. I've also had the amazing opportunity of meeting countless amazing people that I'm proud to call friends. Needless to say, this has been, by far, my favorite activity outside of class.
Introduction to Political and Statistical Analysis. There were parts of the course that were certainly challenging, but the countless hours of fun I had playing with Stata as well as mastering the material was enriching and is partially to blame for my renewed fascination with domestic politics.
