In Waltham, I love Chillbox! Their strawberry and coffee ice cream in a waffle cone is amazing. Chef's kiss. I also enjoy heading into the downtown Waltham to get boba at Kung Fu Tea, or to enjoy some pho at Pho 1. I also love taking late night trips into Boston to get Insomnia cookies, to go shopping at Prudential Center or even on Newbury Street. Boston also has one of my favorite museums, called "The Institute of Contemporary Art" which is free on Thursdays!
Going to the gym! I love anything that has to do with bettering my overall physical health and well-being. I love doing pilates and practicing meditation at Gosman or Village's hidden gym. I also love to appreciate nature and life. Most nights I will either go star or moon gazing. Half of my camera roll is filled with a bunch of nature pics: the moon, the sky, the stars, sunrises and sunsets!
Becoming a Student Admissions Ambassador! I love working at Admissions and meeting prospective students and families to help them with their college decision. It is an honor to work at the front desk and give tours!
As a low-income, first-generation college student the entire college process was extremely overwhelming and difficult. Being apart of an organization called "La Vida" back in my hometown helped me through this difficult journey of figuring out what college would best support me and my life experiences. I knew I wanted to come to an institution that was diverse in all aspects, but also to be apart of a community with other students who have gone through similar experiences/situations as me. I discovered the Myra Kraft Transitional Year Program and knew it was the best fit for me. It resembled a lot like La Vida in terms of being apart of a cohort and having that extra support resources with peers/mentors who have the same admiration and desire in higher education despite their life adversities.
