Admissions Fellow at Brandeis University

Class of 2024

Hometown: Springfield, MA

Major: English

Secondary Major: Sociology

Minor: Asian American Pacific Islander Studies

My favorite Brandeis class/professor is...

Yuri Doolan! He is the chair of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Studies department and has guided me through my journey of learning more about my identity. Professor Doolan has also taught thought provoking courses that critically analyze the AAPI diaspora. I would recommend anyone to take a course with him, or to even just have a conversation with Professor Doolan!

My favorite place on campus, in Waltham or in Boston is...

the Muslim prayer room , where there is a nice environment decorated with fairy lights as well as a vibrant community who welcomes anyone no matter religious affiliation. As someone practicing Islam, this space was a great place to learn more about the faith as well as talk with those aligned with this faith as well! Sometimes events are also hosted in this space, which is great to engage in.

My most memorable Brandeis experience?

The Southeast Asian Club's annual cultural show since it made me feel so seen as a Cambodian American; it also gave me a space to showcase as well as explore my roots.

I chose Brandeis because...

Of the small campus community.

I'm passionate about...

Traveling and Exploring New Places Cooking (but mostly eating) Reading fiction and nonfiction

I'm involved with...
