Tour Guide at Brandeis University
Class of 2023
Hometown: Brookline, MA
This is Our House! There were many different performances by students and Jamele Adams (the dean of students) even gave us a slam poetry performance. It was a really fun night because all the first years gathered in Spingold Theater on the second night of being on campus, and we still didn't know very many people but it was great to start connecting with everyone sitting around us.
Either Evolution & Biodiversity with James Morris or Intro to Behavioral Neuroscience with Don Katz. Both professors teach interesting material with a teaching style that makes you really want to learn the content of the class. James Morris wrote the textbook that many of the biology classes use and always got me interested in class by blasting music or showing videos as we walked into the classroom to give us a preview of the material we would learn in that class period. Don Katz is witty, engaging, and always keeps class interesting by showing us fascinating case studies and teaching us how to be better neuroscientists.
I knew that I would be able to explore my many different academic interests, participate in community service, get involved in research on campus, and experience the supportive and collaborative community that I had heard so much about.
Going to rehearsal for my a capella group (Up The Octave) three times a week and spending time with the amazing people in it.
