Human Osteology with Professor Javier Urcid! In the class we got to work hands on with the Anthropology Department's human skeleton collection to learn how to identify all of the bones in the body. At the end of the semester we got to put those skills to test by working with small fragmented cremated remains. In this project we figured out the method of cremation, how many individuals were represented, what part of the body they were from, their age and even any trauma that happened to the individuals. It was a great way to work hands on and to help Professor Urcid in his work with native Indigenous people in the United States.
it is truly a safe space for students to challenge themselves and make memories. During my three years as part of the 24 hour musical I have found the pieces to this statement. My first year I was an actor, scared to audition for my peers until they started cheering me on as I did my song like a back up dancer for Ariana Grande. My second year I was the Vice President faced with the challenge of thinking up solutions when we couldn't do a dress rehearsal in the theater due to an emergency with one of our pieces of equipment. Then this year as the President I learned the beauty in taking all of those pieces and creating memories with my new friends and old ones through doing a kick line in the SCC atrium at 12:30am. Brandeis is truly a place to grow as a student and more importantly, as a person.
dance! Whether it be practice for Kaos, using an empty space in Gosman athletic center or meeting a friend in Boston to go to an adult class dance is my way to let go. It is a great way to express my feelings, stay healthy and get to know new people through going to dance classes and performances both at Brandeis and in the Boston area.
Fenway! Ever since my friend Alyssa took me to my first Red Sox game I have been obsessed with going to games. Even when we lose it is such a fun experience and I have even gotten better at understanding what is actually going on!
