My favorite place on campus, in Waltham or in Boston is...

My favorite place in Waltham has to be Chillbox. My friends and I love going to Chillbox to get frozen yogurt or a crepe after a long week or just to hang out on the weekend. On-campus I like to go to the Stein on Thursdays with all of my friends. It's our weekly dinner spot where we all get together and talk about the week.

I chose Brandeis because...

I wanted to go to a University where I wasn't just a number to professors. I didn't want to be student 307 in their class I wanted to be Emma. Being at Brandeis has completely proven the point that it is very easy to get in contact with professors and to reach out to them to set up a meeting about their class or just to talk.

My favorite Brandeis class/professor is...

I have to be honest I have two favorite Professors on campus. One is Professor Kosinski-Collins and the other is Professor Katz. I took professor Katz's behavioral neuroscience class second semester fo my first year and through that class, I found that neuroscience was not my thing. Even though I am not pursuing neuroscience Professor Katz has been one of my mentors and I frequently meet with him to get advice. Professor Kosinski-Collins was my second-semester bio lab professor and is a person that I have turned to talk about the next steps in studying biology at Brandeis and just about things I need to navigate in my life.

My favorite Brandeis tradition is...

Candle lighting ceremony at the Light of Reason during orientation. This is a tradition where students get candlelight and all the first-year students light them at the same time and make a wish for their journey at Brandeis. This was a very special moment for me.
