My favorite Brandeis tradition is called "Light the Night," which happens at first-year student orientation. First-year students are given a tea light candle and a Sharpie, and are then asked to write a word on the candle that signifies their Brandeis experience. I chose to write the word "family" on my candle because I wanted to find my "family" and community of people on campus. Everyone writes their own word and then turns on their candles at the same time!!!
My favorite class at Brandeis is Managing Medicine, taught by Professor Darren Zinner. This class taught me to think critically about healthcare management, and offered me with an understanding of how to implement realistic health policy solutions. Professor Zinner asks challenging questions that genuinely make you think from a different perspective than your own.
My most memorable Brandeis experience was traveling to the UAA Championship meet last year for our conference meet. I loved being with my teammates, spending time in the sun, and racing at the highest competitive level!
I loved the academic and athletic culture at Brandeis. I knew I wanted an academic environment that would challenge me to become a better person and stronger student, while also being able to swim at the collegiate level on a Division III, NCAA program.
