My most memorable experience at Brandeis is a tradition called Light the Night. Light the Night is a tradition that happens during first year orientation. During Light the Night, the entire first year class gathers at the light poles in front of the Rose Art Museum. Each person would get a tea light and write down their goals and the reason why they are here. The word I wrote on my tea light was “happiness” because I wanted to feel happy during my time at Brandeis. On the count of three, everyone turned on their tea lights at the same time and all of the light poles also lit up. I was awed by the amazing view and I could never forget that moment during my first year orientation.
Hanging out and/or putting on events with my friends from BAASA (Brandeis Asian American Students Association).
Health Psychology taught by Jutta Wolf. Before taking the class, I thought that health just meant the absence of disease instead of a state of physical, mental, and social well-being. I was amazed by how biological, social, and psychological factors all contribute to health.
Brandeis allows me to pursue both science and music. I've always wanted to be a scientist, but I can never imagine giving up playing the clarinet in an orchestra. Brandeis is the perfect place for me because I don't need to compromise music or science.
