I was looking for a medium-sized school with a campus that was near a large city. Additionally, upon coming to Admitted Students Day I was overwhelmed with kindness and community. The word Brandesian was thrown around a lot and through Admitted Students Day I was able to understand that Brandeisians are intellectually curious individuals who are extremely passionate about what they are studying and applying that to change the world. Brandeisians are individuals who also raise each other up because, while one person can make a difference, no one can change the world alone.
Making a model organism fluoresce for the first time with something that I designed.
On Campus: 2nd Floor Shapiro Science Center or Off campus: Cafe on the Commons
I took Anita Hannig's Anthropology of Death and Dying class on a whim because I was curious about what an anthropology course was like. I ended up falling in love with the class and discovered the study of medical anthropology. Professor Hannig inspired me to take another anthropology class and eventually declare the anthropology minor: she is now my advisor.
