My favorite class at Brandeis was ED 100B which explored many topics on education including useful teaching strategies and historical background that has lead to the current education system. This class also required us to observe a middle school classroom every week which we would then analyze the ways in which that classroom worked. I had the opportunity of being in both a 6th grade English class and Science class. I even was able to give a lesson for English class that I planned myself! It was a great class with interesting content and gave a great hands-on experience.
My favorite place on campus is the rooftop garden in Mandel! It is a great place to study and do work during the day. It also has outlets whenever my phone has low battery which happens too often.
Although I appreciated Brandeis' close proximity to Boston while still being a perfectly sized school, I choose Brandeis because of the community. It was something that was prevalent during my tour and especially these past years that I've been here.
My most memorable Brandeis experience has been when I met with Professor Farrelly who is also my American Studies advisor. I was feeling confused, and I had a lot of questions about my academics and life after college. Professor Farrelly took the time to talk to me and give me advice that has been relevant throughout different aspects of my life. She is still always willing to talk to me during her office hours despite me no longer being her student which I always value.
