Introduction to Behavioral Neuroscience. Although I am now a double major in Environmental Studies and Sociology, Intro to Behavioral Neuroscience was my favorite Brandeis class thus far. My professor, Dan Katz, was always enthusiastic, silly, and engaging when teaching us about the brain. He not only taught about brain anatomy and function, but also spent about half of each class discussing that which we do not know: the holes, complexities, and paradoxes surrounding brain anatomy and function. Professor Katz taught me that no academic field is complete or steadfast; every area of knowledge/ field of study has room to grow and space for debate.
simply spending time with my friends. I have met some of the kindest, silliest, most warm-hearted people at Brandeis and I love being with them! Whether we are playing board games, going out in to Boston, grabbing a meal, or simply hanging out, we always have a lovely time together.
Walden Pond, which is where Henry David Thoreau wrote his famous book titled Walden. Located about a 20 minute drive from Brandeis, it is a large, beautiful pond surrounded by trails and trees! When it's warmer outside, I love to visit there with my friends. We splash around in the clear, refreshing water, walk around the trail, relax on the beach, and admire the stunning view of the pond! I highly suggest visiting Walden Pond!
Springfest! Springfest is an annual outdoor concert organized and funded by the university, taking place a bit before finals at the end of the school year. I love Springfest because it provides an opportunity for the entire Brandeis community to come together, spend time outdoors, and enjoy music!
