My favorite Brandeis class/professor is...

My favorite class at Brandeis was one I took this past semester, called Families, Kinship and Sexuality. I was especially excited to take a class about families because I hope to go into family law after finishing my education. This class allowed me to learn more about family dynamics and how intersectionality influences them. I definitely feel much more confident in my ability to analyze and understand different family dynamics, and will definitely use this knowledge as I study family law.

My favorite place on campus, in Waltham or in Boston is...

The Gender and Sexuality Center. I have been a student worker at the GSC since the beginning of my sophomore year, and to me it represents community as well as a casual place to study and meet new people. During my shifts at the GSC, I often invite my friends to sit in the GSC with me and they invite others to do the same. I love the fact that the GSC has become more of a social space on campus.

I chose Brandeis because...

I was heavily involved in social justice initiatives in high school, and was drawn to Brandeis because I knew I would have more opportunities to advocate for others here. I also wanted to have the chance to live near a big city, as I am from a fairly rural area. I have been very grateful for the social advocacy opportunities I have had here at Brandeis.

My favorite activity outside of class is...

Baking, especially baking with friends! I am living in a suite-style residence hall this summer, and have access to my own kitchen. I’m so excited to learn to bake new things in my free time!

I'm passionate about...

Baking Cooking Plants Social Justice LGBTQ+ rights Petting cute dogs Helping abuse survivors
