I loved the idea of joining a community committed to social justice and making the world a better place! I also admired the strong alumni network that Brandeis has.
My favorite class was Language in American Life, taught by the incredible Professor Janet McIntosh. Not only did I learn so much about how we use language to construct our cultures and identities, but I also really admired how committed Professor McIntosh was to listening to students and hearing own stories.
My favorite memories are mostly the everyday ones: waving to friends as we pass by, grabbing dinner with a friend in Sherman, or meeting up to study in the SCC but then spending the whole time chatting instead.
I love Light the Night because it feels like it marks the beginning of the whole class's journey at Brandeis! I resonate with the idea that we start and end our time at Brandeis in front of the Lights of Reason, starting with Light the Night and ending by taking graduation photos there.
